Wirksworth Book Festival Among the Shelves 2

You are invited to Wirksworth Library for 2:30pm on Friday 25 April for another author ‘among the shelves.’ Janet Tennant will talk about her new book, The Refugee Countess – Five lives in one lifetime.

Marion Stein was a Jewish refugee who in 1938 escaped with her family from Nazi Austria to London. Her story is one of many twists and turns set against the historical changes of the 20th century: Nazi persecution, the post- Cold war economy, attitudes to royal marriage and divorce and male homosexuality.
