The Power of Reading with Vanessa Hall

What is single most powerful way to improve your child’s well-being, academic achievement, communication skills, general knowledge and capacity for empathy? Well, obviously that’d be reading. This workshop is designed to help parents and teachers to better support and improve your child’s reading – to help build knowledge as to how to overcome specific reading barriers, improve fluency, and motivate and engage reluctant readers.

Vanessa has worked as an English teacher for over twenty years, and as a senior leader in a range of inner-city schools for the last decade. She is currently the Director for Teaching and Learning for Greenwood Academies Trust, and a works as a literacy advisor for a DfE initiative across Nottingham City.
