Wirksworth Heritage Centre presents the next installment of their Heritage Talks with Homefront – Wirksworth & the Derwent Valley in World War II with Pete Chivers.

Wirksworth and the Derwent Valley in World War II chronicles the life on the Homefront in the Second World War as seen through the recollections of residents at that time. It provides evidence of a defining period in the area’s history that changed the lives of those living there and brought the community together in a common cause. It is a reminder of the difficulties, hardships, and restrictions at the time and how the local communities overcame the odds stacked against them.
