The town transforms into a huge gallery for the weekend of the 9th & 10th September. Homes, gardens & public spaces across the town are thrown open for over a hundred artists to exhibit their work.

The place to buy all manner of things made in and around Wirksworth. The Saturday Farmers’ Market started as a pilot at the Wirksworth Festival in 2008 with a handful of stalls, gradually growing to become a regular source of locally produced fine food, crafts and information about stuff happening in and around the town.All stalls are run by small independent businesses, some only being found at the Wirksworth market! Most of our stall holders are based close by in the picturesque Derbyshire valleys of the nearby Amber, Ecclesbourne and Derwent rivers and we reckon the average distance they travel is no more than 15 miles!
