Story Games are fun and useful tools for provoking the imagination\, and potentially giving writers the initial inspiration for larger works. After each round\, participants are invited to read out their pieces\, if they are comfortable doing so.  \nTurn up at the library between 10 and 12 to either watch or join in with as many exercises as you wish. Each round will take about 10 – 25 mins depending on the game and numbers of people. DESCRIPTION:Every year on the last weekend in June\, the town comes alive with it’s annual Hidden Gardens and Courtyards of Wirksworth weekend event.\nApproximately 30 gardens will be open\, showcasing the varied gardens\, courtyards\, hidden gems\, and often surprising views which makes Wirksworth so special \nDATE – Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th June \nTIME – 11.00 am till 4.00pm (please note the new time) \nTickets will be on sale at various venues during the weekend itself – ‘Marsdens’ gift shop near to the market place / ‘Green Gates’ – one of the garden venues situated on Coldwell Street / there will also be a ticket sale stand outside Waltham House (opposite the Memorial Gardens) \nTickets are priced at £5 / accompanied under 16’s are free \nTickets purchased on the Saturday can also be used on the Sunday \nTickets included a wrist band and a Trail Map \nSome of the gardens will be serving refreshments. It is hoped that some of the gardens will also be able to provide toilet facilities. \nEach year\, the money raised from the event is donated to various local clubs and organizations which have a strong connection to Wirksworth. We also support ‘Study Guatamala’ which is an Education provision in Guatemala.

DESCRIPTION:Join the National Stone Centre this Christmas for a range of festive and geological activities for all the family!\nFor the first time\, market stalls will be hosted in the site’s brand new marquee\, hosted over ten local businesses selling a variety of goods.\n\nLive music will take place throughout the day\, with performances from the BM&W Brass band and Ukeswirks.\nExperience Santa’s Grotto\, which will be open for children to visit from 10am-12pm and 12:30pm-3pm. Alongside Santa’s Grotto is the ‘Search the Santa’s Reindeer’; an activity that challenges children to find all of Santa’s nine reindeer across the geological site in return for a reward. Geological activities\, such as gem panning\, guided geo-trail tours and the rock shop will also be available for visitors.\n\nThe day is free-to-attend (excluding parking)\, with multiple options to donate throughout the day.\nTickets aren’t required to attend the event\, but registering your attendance in advance allows the NSC to manage the expectation of visitors to the event more efficiently.
