If anyone fancies joining me\, do feel free to pop along for a sunny few hours of sketching.\nI’ll be starting off at 10:00am from the Market Place car-park\, next to the Hope & Anchor pub. From there people can then choose where they go & what they sketch. Wirksworth should have a nice selection of options to draw/paint. You’ve got the town\, which is full of lovely quirky architecture. You’ve got the church and the lovely churchyard. There’s the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway just a 2 min walk from the market-place. So hopefully enough choice to please everyone.\nI thought we could all meet back at the Market Place car-park between 12:00 & 12:30 to share what we’ve created and to hopefully grab a drink in a nearby café.\nSo if you are keen to join me\, pack a few arty things\, pray for sunshine and I’ll see you in lovely Wirksworth on June 18th.

A Death Café can provide a safe environment to talk about death and dying. But please note it’s not a counselling or support group. \nA Death Café [www.deathcafe.com] is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda\, objectives\, or themes. Death Cafés are always offered in an accessible\, respectful\, and confidential space\, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion\, product\, or course of action. Alongside the session are refreshing tea/coffee and cake! \nAll welcome\, free tea/coffee and cake. The venue is wheelchair accessible. \nThis session is facilitated by End-of-Life Doula\, Paula Smith\, with experience of running Death Cafes. She is also a therapeutic councellor. \nThis event is organised by Unite Community with support from Central England Co-op. We organise community events on social justice and well-being topics.

DESCRIPTION:Come on a gentle stroll around the grounds of the Eco Centre with Leslie. We’ll identify trees\, shrubs and herbaceous plants within the space and discuss what they are\, how they can benefit your own garden and what their requirements are in order to perform at their best. \n\nVenue: Derbyshire Eco Centre \n\n\nApproximate course length: 2 hours \nThis course is for: \n\n\nAnyone interested in knowing more about plants you may have or want to grow in your garden. \n\n\nYou will learn: \n• plant name \n• how a plant may benefit your own garden \n• the plants’ requirements/ optimum conditions \nThis is an outdoor course / workshop which will provide an opportunity to develop horticulture skills in a friendly\, sociable environment. \nIf there’s time\, your tutor will be happy to answer questions about the plants you have in your own garden\, so take good quality/in focus photos (both of the entire plant and a close-up of leaf/flower) and bring them with you. \n\n\nWork outside of the sessions: \nThis is not required\, though we hope you will want to put what you have learned into practice. \n\n\nAdditional costs and what to prepare: \nThere are no other costs. \nWear clothes and footwear appropriate for being outside and the weather. \n\n\nProgression from this course: \nYou may wish to progress to one of our other horticulture courses Creating a Hanging Herb Garden\, or Friend or Foe? or Introduction to Woodland Shelter Building and Bushcraft Survival. \nDiscuss your next steps with your tutor or centre staff. \n\n\n\nFor further information on our courses or the additional support we offer visit: derbyshire.gov.uk/adulteducation
